Joseph Conrad (1857-1924), a Polish born British novelist (Józef Teodor Konrad Korzeniowski). His famous works are "Lord Jim", "Nostromo" and "Heart of Darkness", which was the basis of Francis Ford Coppola’s film "Apocalypse Now".
